About the event
“Translation” hilariously explores the concepts and constructs of gender, love, culture and bias through the agonizing conflicts and couplings of a group of complicated New Yorkers as they endeavor to live their authentic lives.
From the playwright: “New Yorkers are quite often members of very specific tribes which can be fiercely loyal to one another while competing at the same time. Competing with each other, with other tribes, with themselves. No person is just one thing and no one should be fooled by appearances, labels, behaviors or prejudices. Husband, Wife, Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Surrogate this, Surrogate that...Who or What will you be today? Translation will not only make you laugh out loud, it will make you think and question, and love on a whole new level...”
